Despite our constant desire to achieve our goals we are often bound by our primitive human habits usually tending to hold us back. Even after realizing our true potential we fail to listen to our instincts, or rather ignore it.
The human brain is hardwired to defend itself from any imminent or potential danger. This neurological signal is often referred to as fear. Fear is nothing but our brain informing us to stay away from anything that may turn out to be a physical or mental risk.
The blazing passion within ourselves shouldn’t be extinguished with dread. Fear can’t be allowed to dominate our lives, to dictate every significant decision we make, for that’s not how humans are supposed to live. Humans have the innate ability to reprogram their brains to improve their lives for better or for worse. This ability has been losing its presence due to the environment we grow up in. All our life we have been fed with the convenient lie to follow the societal norms and live by it. Rarely are we encouraged to pursue our dreams, our passion, our goals. All we are expected to do is, get a well-paid job, work relentlessly for 50 weeks a year to relax the other two. Our creativity is long killed during our adolescence by the very society we live in. Instead of nurturing our passion, it is suppressed by our fears.
Just imagine yourself on your deathbed, wondering about how your life would have been different had you not given into your fears and rather had taken that leap of faith for something you longed for.
To achieve a greater good you can’t afford to live a life governed by your fears. In order to fulfill your goals, it’s absolutely necessary to overcome these fears by doing the exact same thing that you’re fearful of. Unless you try to overcome your fears, you will forever just live a mediocre life and keep complaining about the world, failing to perceive that the only thing standing between you and your goals is your fear. Constantly strive to be a better version of yourself by challenging these so-called fear. Channelize your drive and fuel your passion with optimism, determination and hard-work, these itself will help you push back your fears.
‘Remember your dreams and fight for them. You must know what you want from life. There is just one thing that makes your dream become impossible: the fear of failure.’
